Training Update

The District’s top priority is to ensure the safety of its members at all times. VIF&R’s most laborious task is to provide appropriate training for more than 60 volunteer members and 27 employees. Coordinating an effective Training and Safety program is a constant juggling act, pitting limited member time against legal mandates from Federal, State and local regulatory agencies. Added to the mandates are the obligations to maintain basic proficiencies in firefighting and emergency medical skills.

To accomplish the training requirements, weekly training for all members is conducted on Monday evenings.
