To apply, qualified applicants will be at least 18 years of age, possess a valid Washington State driver’s license, have a driving record which meets our minimum qualifications, and will have passed a “CPAT”, Candidate Physical Ability Test, from National Testing Network (nationaltestingnetwork.com). VIFR is specifically looking for Maury Island residents who live within five road miles the Dockton Fire Station (26319 99th Ave. SW), to increase the emergency response on Maury Island. Ideally, the District is looking for six Maury Island residents who meet the above qualifications and could successfully pass the screening and training process.
home and respond in personal vehicles to emergency calls. Volunteers are reimbursed a small stipend for training they attend, as well as for each call responded to. As the cost of screening and training new firefighters is not without note, we require all Volunteers to sign a reimbursement agreement, in which the recruit agrees to volunteer for a period of no less than 18 months after completion of academy, or reimburse the cost of the screening and training should they choose to leave the district prematurely.
